hair talk

Finally! We are done with the vendor presentation for our new Internet Banking system. Imagine, 7 vendors with each presentation that lasted for the whole day! That was nothing but tiredness.

Anyway, the news flash is that I’ve dyed my hair back to black haha! Beats me but I’ve always think that black is a ’scorpio’ thing. It’s kinda brings out the mysterious part of a person. And no mater how people say that black is unflattering and absorb all the bad energy, I find it an energy booster. And every time I wear black, it feels like I can take over the world haha!

A part from the dye, I had a hair cut at a new salon at Desa Pandan – full of ah beng and ah lians. The stylist gave me what I wanted but it’s so not edgy! So I went over to Aizuddin today to fix it :p And signed up for their Wella hair treatment package for only RM170! Consider damned cheap for 4 sessions!

Aizuddin is great! He is like the Malaysian version of Jonathan Antin! His haircut comes out edgy and SEXY! Did I also mentioned that he is a (Malay) celebrity hairstylist? Best of all, he only charge RM30 for a haircut! Or maybe, he is just nice to me considering that I frequent his salon like 2 times a month!

Love the hair I am in. (Gee that sounds familiar!)

You know I somehow had this thought that Microsoft presenters are really good at convincing the audience when they want to get their point across. But my jaw dropped when this Microsoft consultant (who was the solution partner for our vendor) presented their solution for our new Internet Banking.

Towards the end of the vendor presentation, this consultant from Microsoft came up for her 15 minute. Her opening remark when something like this…” A lot of people think that Microsoft provides only desktop solutions, but we do provide solutions for Financial Institutes like London Stock Exchange but I just don’t know why most of my clients in Malaysia don’t believe me!” Laugh laugh laugh…Then she fire up 3 case studies in video with oversea clients talking about how good their Financial solutions are blah blah…Then she moved on to show us a demo on Sliverlight and it’s enhanced customer browsing experience.

She totally lost it. I mean, does she expect the 3 video with some gweilo singing praises about how good their solution is gonna get us all excited about what we can offer to our customers? Also, Ajax and web 2.0 is a cool thing but how many Malaysian customers can appreciate that for banking site?

Sometimes I think that a lot of vendor really know how to shiok sendiri without addressing what the client wants.

Sad case.

Oh this is awful! Finally made up my mind to go to Pangkor Island for the weekend and couldn’t get any bus ticket at eleventh hour :(
I can’t believe all the tickets to Lumut were all sold out! How outrageous is that! I honestly think it’s a conspiracy or some sort…with all the buses traveling only to big cities to cater for the ‘balik kampung’ crowd due to the Monday public holiday.

Anyway, disappointed as I was, I still had to eat. So I went to my ‘usual place’ to have chicken rice, contemplating if I should just hop on to any available bus. But at the end got put off by the thought of not being able to get bus ticket back to KL from where-ever-I-am; considering Monday’s a public holiday packed with the ‘balik kampung’ crowd to come back to KL.

Perhaps I should just make a day trip to Genting or something…

where to go?

Posted in everyday life on May 15, 2008 by scorpieme

For the past few days, I’ve been looking at men and their wedding ring. Not that I’ve been doing it intentionally, its just that…the damn rings just…kept staring back at me!

Is this a hint or something?

Weekend is around the corner and I haven’t made up my mind on my weekend getaway. Should I go to Pangkor Island? Perhaps Cameron Highland? Or Langkawi? Can’t make up my mind!

the buck stops here

Have you ever wonder, that whatever you are going through at this instant, is a result of the choices you made in the past. The choices that had you spending the nights in the office, the dinner you just had, the apartment you lived in, your job, the person you are with, and even your friends!

When things go wrong, we blame circumstance, we blame the weather, we blame God even for not being on our side. Well what’s new, blaming others seems like the most rational thing to do, seems like an easy why out; makes us feel better when we shift the blame off our shoulders. don’t we?

When you realized the life is about choices, you then realized you have the opportunity to make a decision. And be responsible for your past and present.

It’s a revelation, if you understand this theory. For it will prepare you for greatness in life.

back to home

Posted in everyday life on May 8, 2008 by scorpieme

Can’t wait for Friday to come. Finally! It’s time to go ‘home’ again :p

‘Home’ is still the best place to be, to be in the presence of mom and dad. I still long for the day where I can do freelance and just lepak at home with my parents. Maybe, I should invest in a cafe or something in Batu Pahat, which doesn’t seem like a hard thing to do…”hmm”…

It is said that the relationship with our parents is always a work in progress. And we are all trying to make up to each other as we grow. How true is that?!

My parents and I came a long way… and I am grateful that they have always been supportive of what I wanted to do in life. (except for taking up photography full time, but heck I am sure they will get it something haha). Especially mom, I can see that she has finally loosen up a bit and let me be the kinda person I aspire to be; and well as accepting me for who I am. It puzzles me at times, to see such a headstrong person who always wants things her way, to finally … let go.

She too, has finally grown wiser…

Jogja – Day Four

Posted in everyday life on May 6, 2008 by scorpieme

Last day in Jogja was spend re-visiting Malioboro Mall again! Can you believe, we bought 2 botol(100ml) of perfume (from Paris) for only Rp100,000?! That’s like RM16 per botol! Everything was so darn cheap in Jogja it’s crazy!

After the Mall, did some really last minute shopping for souvenirs and at the end didn’t distribute it to our colleagues :P

I think … we should all stop buying souvenirs for each other for courtesy sake. Unless it’s something specific that’s been asked for :p

Anyway, was glad to leave Jogja. I mean…it was fun…until ‘this friend’ started giving me all these I-like-you vibe which really pissed me off. When we bid goodbye, he had the nerve to slip me a letter!

It’s a mean thing to do to laugh at his expense I know. As crude as I am sometime, I do know that people’s feeling are not be toyed. But I just can’t help feeling mad at him. It’s like he betrayed our friendship. And there is no way that I am going back to Jogja again.

That sucks!
