the SG trip

Posted in everyday life on October 30, 2008 by scorpieme

Singapore was great it had me grinning from ear to ear and I can’t stop raving about it.

The funny thing is, I don’t quite comprehend why am I so excited about Singapore when on surface level it’s just like another Malaysia.

Perhaps, it’s the Aeroline experience that ignited the happy energy in me. Perhaps its the shopping, the friendly and helpful Singaporeans, the greenery, the sunshine, the oh-so-convenient MRT that which is a far cry compare to our LRT, their cashless society, and the amount of touristy thing that one can do in that little Island!

I really enjoyed my trip. Didn’t do the usual tourist thingy so didn’t have a single shot of Singapore :p However, did what I went to do in the first place – had fun photographing my cousins in the ‘model wannabe shoot’ and did plenty of shopping. Especially the purple coloured crystals I bought from the shop that XX frequent in Arab Street! Not forgeting the fake party eye lashes and what not. Singapore is really a shopper’s paradise! So many things to buy and explore I wished I had more time to spare.

Will definitely make a trip to Singapore soon! And…can’t wait to ‘zhng’ my phone this weekend haha…

The Island

I am so glad that my period came today! By the time it ended I should be chilling at Teluk Nipah with Tiger beer, Purpiepoop and my favorite book. And oh! Ofcause, with Remi as well :p

Thank God for that!

Uuuuh…Can’t wait for that day to come! I so missed Pangkor Island, the sea, the people, the mee hailam, my friends and just… being there!

I think I am gonna do a scrapbook project on my little getaway at Pangkor Island. This is so creatively addictive!

November come quick

I love my birthday month. I love being a November baby. And I love being a Scorpio!

I am gonna get a Canon Power Shot E1 for me on my Bday. I know! I know! I already got myself the super cool purple iPod Nano but who says we can’t buy gift(s) for ourself?

I so love me, I am loving it.

Where is the way out

I can’t believe this.

Up ’till today, HR still have not decided whether they are gonna pay me for the 2 extra working days and my 4 days annual leave as requested by big boss. And they didn’t even have the bloody courtesy to reply my email sent earlier October. Today, I sent another follow up email demanding for an answer. Then Anis-almighty forwarded my email her other colleague to attend to my queries. Frustrated, I called Anis-almighty up and guess what she said “Oh you have to call so and so for this. HR is sooo BIG! We don’t do EVERYTHING you know!”

Do I look like I give a flying fuck how BIGGGGG is your HR department? Geez!

So, I bribed the Super-admin to call and almost fainted when she told me that HR hasn’t decided to pay me for my extra 2 days and 4 days annual leave. They said need to check with big boss first.

Urgh! What the fuck is going on?!

If I don’t get an answer by tomorrow, I’m gonna packed my things and get the fuck out of there. Besides, tomorrow should be my last day if I offset my 4 days leave.

Damn tulan.

A Vs AA

Singapore was so much fun I wished I had more days to spare in the Garden City!
But first, lets talk about Aeroline.

As the trip to Singapore was kinda last minute, and I couldn’t find any cheap flights from Air Asia; So I booked myself a return ticket to Singapore via Aeroline. Totaling up to RM160++

One thing that I like about Aeroline’s online ticket reservation is the seat selector and the ease of changing seats and traveling dates without penalty! For vegetarian, one can even request for vegetarian food!

The journey to SG was really comfortable. Comfy seats with cushion for the back, plenty of leg space, very friendly and helpful cabin crew, food was not bad and one can request for extra food and drinks without extra charge. The only draw back is that the journey took 5 hours and it can be a killer of you are not one of those who fancy long bus rides.

Another note that worth mentioning is that right after my first ride with Aeroline, I received an email thanking me for traveling with Aeroline and requesting for the feedback of my ticket booking and traveling experience with Aeroline. That definitely score brownie points from a customer experience view point.

So the RM160 was very well spend.

SG here I come

Boy am I excited about my SG trip! I didn’t know there so many things to do and see in that little island!

I’ll be taking the Aeroline bus to SG – checking out what and how the airline competitor is running their business :p

The bus trip will take about 5 hours max and arriving at VivoCity – Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle destination.

I’ll hang out with Yann and Lana on Friday evening. Do the Singapore walk on Saturday and check out some art galleries and what not.

Sunday will be the ‘model wannabe photo shoot’ day. Haha! I wonder what kinda poses my cousins are gonna give me this time :p

It’s so much fun photographing them because they would do ‘anything’ to get that cover girl shot. Plus, they are so natural it tickles my funny bones! I can’t believe my little cousins are so grown up now!

Time flies…but sometimes, I still feel that we are all stuck in some sort of twilight zone. When we were young in yester-years.

should reality sux like this?

Posted in everyday life on October 23, 2008 by scorpieme

I know I have a short fuse. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I am definitely not the type to pretend that I am laying on a bed of roses when in reality it’s a bed of shit I am laying on. And the one thing that I could not tolerate is lazy people. People who does not honor the time line given!

I could have just fuck it you know; since I am leaving. Why should I be bothered if the newcomer goes off for breakfast at 9am when we start work at 8.45am. Or why should I have to keep reminding a colleague to check whether the damned flow is correct or not. Or why should I even bother if Mr.A is slacking (again) and that he will be gotten rid of in due time? Or why should I even bother when we keep hiring lazy people?!

Is it me or is there something REALLY wrong? Most puzzling of all, can someone explain why is there a breed of weirdos who sits around waiting for things to happen???

weekend come quick

Posted in everyday life on October 22, 2008 by scorpieme

Oh crap, I’m feeling under the weather off late. Running nose, sore throat and fever. What’s next?

It’s a long weekend, and therefore, warrants a little getaway! Finally, after the unsuccessful attempt to organize a trip to the Highland, I made up my mind to visit the Merlion in Singapore this weekend.

I am not exactly the trip planner type you know. When I’ve decided to go somewhere, I’ll just pack my bag and hit the road. I don’t sweat over itinerary, accommodation and what not. I can stay in the shitest guesthouse, eat the crappiest food, have the worst local bus ride and still embrace and enjoy the moment.

To me, indulgence on traveling is not about staying in fancy air-conditioned stars hotels, or a jam-packed schedule on all the must-see and must-do itinerary.  It’s more of…befriending the locals, sharing a meal with them, sharing stories and aspiration.

I so love traveling. Because I love discovering the places I’m visiting and it’s people (especially). And I will travel for as long as I live; even if I’ve put a ring on my finger or even if I have little children of my own. This is off topic but heck, I’ll drag them onto the bandwagon and we’ll take a couple of years off just traveling :p And I’ll buy them mini cameras to document the beauty of life! Can’t wait to have mini-me(s). The stubborn, headstrong, go-gether, larger than life scorpions mini-me(s)!

Anyway, I am so looking forward to Singapore this weekend. I am sure I am gonna have lots of fun doing all the artsy visits in museums and art galleries, strolling down memory lane and photographing my model wannabe cousins!
